I will be visiting Bali (and hopefully staying ) I will be coming in on a voa and with in 1 week going for a soc ,
when I enter bali do I need to show a leaving bali flight or boat ride etc ?

There are two points where a return ticket may be necessary: First, when you check in for your flight to Bali. It is extremely likely that you will be required to show a return ticket at this point, or you will not be allowed to check in. Second, at immigration in Bali. This is less likely, and has never happened to me, but it is definitely a possibility.

Smoke; You will almost certainly have to leave the country to get you Social bud visa. So probably a good idea to get a ticket for Singapore.
