My passport is going to expire early next year is it easy or possible to renew in in Bali? Should I just do it now while I am in Australia?

Yes it is easy and possible here by going to the Aussie Consulate - but you can do it there too - your choice.

Just remember you need at least 6 months left on it when you enter Bali or you may get sent back or have to pay a silly bribe.
