Is it easier to get a 30 day tourist visa on arrival or going to my locale "1.5 hour drive" embassy.
After a 24 hour journey, do not fancy taking 2 hours clearing immigration like you do I the states.
Thanks

Unless you have a "local" visa, either Social or Kitas, you will spend the same amount of time in arrivals unless you pre-book the the "special" speedy experience. Not sure how but ask you travel agent or maybe someone "nice" here will fill you in.

Does it take 2 hours to clear immigration when entering the states? Sounds very long.

I would always try to get the visa from an embassy rather than on arrival. Benefit is of getting an extendable visa and fast track through immigration. Downside is you will probably have to pick up your visa a couple of days after appling for it. [So 2 trips]

I have done VOA with two kids quite a few times, it's really not a big deal and nothing like doing LA with two kids!
I find the airport experience a great way to quickly let go of my busy hectic "it needs to happen now" mentality :icon_wink:
It really doesn't take long unless a heap of planes happen to land at the same time.

oh and last trip for reasons unknown we got moved to the local queue. think it was because we didn't look pissed off!
same thing when we were going home.

Thanks All
Will save the gas money going to the embassy to spend on BEER. Have done LA not with 2 kids but with 5 French guys and I was the only english/american speaker.
Will try the "Not Pissed off look" , Could be difficult, travelling with the WIFE !!!!:icon_e_biggrin:

For some light entertainment and a boost to the marriage you could always hide a few Oxo cubes (soup supplements - look strangely like hashish) in the wife's makeup bag.
You'll both sit back in your rocking chairs and just laugh and laugh about - in years to come.
And just think of the beer money you can save until she gets out of jail and with the new purgative drugs they use you might take a run at convincing her it's better than colonic irrigation.
Tell us how it works out - some pix of the wife's surprised and happy face would be good too.
