My visa agent has just informed me that it is no longer possible to do the one day Singapore run to process either a KITAS or SOSBUD. Indonesian immigration are now insisting on seeing an exit stamp showing you are no longer in Indonesia before they will process, meaning we now have to stay our of the country for 7 days or so. Apparently the rules have changed this week. Has anyone else come across this new regulation?

I am currently waiting for a job to be confirmed and have been told that the company will send me to Singapore for the KITAS process; I am currently in Bali. I am being seconded to this company and they have to agree my whole package that includes, so I am told, the US$3,000 odd fee for the KITAS. I presume this includes the flights and hotel so it does look as though you are correct.
Although as I am not picking up the bill myself I have not looked into it so cannot be absolutely certain.

I haven't heard of this yet and hope it's not true but something in your post is really confusing me.
If immigration is insisting on seeing my exit stamp, I will have that as soon as I depart from Indonesia to go to Singapore, whether for an hour or for 7 days.
My best guess is there was some miscommunication on your visa agent's part at some point.

a little bit confusing too, what is the different for 1 days or 7 days? stay in sgp?

What I'm told is that immigration in Jakarta will not start to process the application until they see proof we are outside of the country. Then it will take 7 days.
Extract from e-mail:
So what I heard last time about new regulation is true. Now if on January
you want to pick up your working visa, you need to leave Indonesia first.
When you reach Singapore, please send me the Immigration stamp about u
leave Indonesia by scan and email. Then immigration will process the Telex
visa around 7 days. So means that you have to be in Singapore at least 10
days :(

I'm with calitobali here...
very confusing thread..
and imho a very strange 'agent' that is handling your application.
a kitas with workpermit could never have been done in a 1 day 'visa' run,
telexing to jakarta/approval from manpower etcetc..really does take a little longer then a day..
a sosbud visa yes in one day, since that is being processed at the embassy itself...

Natasha wroteI too have been recently told this for a spousal KITAS, and in fact the wait and processing of the visa while outside Indonesia can be up to 3 weeks (the 7-10 days are 7-10 work days which does not include weekends, holidays, 'delays,' etc..). Correct me if I am wrong, but I was told this was not the case for SOSBUD, that one can still go to Singapore for the day and get an agent to process it within the day.
you could get a sosbud sponsored by spouse, then convert that at your local kantor imigrasi to a kitas ikut suami/istri.

This thread doesnt make sense ...,
it's talking about 2 different visas , that is; #1 social budaya visa , and #2 Kitas visa ......................
......, and the OP doesnt stipulate whether its a spouse sponsored kitas, or a working Kitas (ie; employer sponsored)?
Therefore every comment thereaftere the " non-specific and confusing OP , is about different things and are not related to each other ? which makes this thread a lot of mumbo jumbo .........,
- I think the OP needs to delete this thread , get the facts together, and be specific to begin with ..., so that those good souls who are attempting to help can understand the full meaning of the OP and answer accordingly.

I agree that the thread might be better off deleted as well due to lack of clarity and also a lack of real/confirmed information traced to a reliable source.
I say this mostly because threads like these often come up in search engines while people are searching for visa info and by having rumors and uncomfirmed info like this, it could steer many people in the wrong direction.

agreed - load of old BS I would say but I'm being nice.

I had previously been advised that all of the telexing and approvals could be done while I was still in Indonesia and then just do the one day Singapore run to collect.
However I'm now told that Singapore have complained to Jakarta that so many people were doing day trips from Indonesia and not staying or spending money in Singapore that they have reached an agreement to force longer stays in Singapore. No doubt some money crossed palms there!

Totally agree balidavo....unless the Op 'iluvbali' is willing to say what kind of visa he/she applied and is talking about.... the thread makes no sense...is very confusing...and doesn't help others who have genuine concerns and questions.

This is about the biggest pile of nonsensical crap I've ever read on this board. Agree that the thread should be deleted as it is confusing, inaccurate and misleading.

What lovely people I'm meeting here on this forum. As a newbie I ask a question and get nothing but abuse. Hope you all find out about the new rules in good time. Now if someone can tell me how to delete a thread I'll keep you all happy and oblige.

It's a fact. I am processing my wife sponsored kitas. I have to leave the country, email a photocopy of my exit stamp in my passport to my agent before they can process my kitas. Takes a week or so to process. Then I can collect my kitas from my chosen embassy outside Indonesia. New law from Jakata. I think some apologies are in order.

Sorry Mat that you too have come across the new rules, but pleased that someone has been able to help prove my sanity.
And if anyone is still interested it was actually a Working KITAS that I am having processed.

iluvbali is the company having trouble getting a work visa or are you trying to employ yourself?
iluvbali
If someone can tell me how I still think it is best I delete this thread as people are still posting information that is not in line with the new regulations. I do not seem to have an option to delete. Perhaps a friendly mod could help?

iluvbali please send a copy of the new UU which has changed or give me the number of the immigration officer that has told you of the change. Were here to help, If you have only been told this by a agent then he is wrong. You know the process for a work Kitas??
