HiLooking for some help re the availability of the following natural products/supplements in Bali.Manuka HoneyAloe Vera JuiceSlippery Elm PowderDigestive EnzymesProbioticsGlutamineN-Acetyl CysteineA friend is suffering from stomach ulcers and the following have been recommended to me in Australia as possible remedies (they are unable to recommend stronger products without consulting with my friend first).I am happy to bring some of the supplements with me to Bali but seems pointless if they are readily available. Thanks for your help.

Manuka Honey ---> Bali Deli in SeminyakAloe Vera juice--> Make your own! Get a plant, remove the skin, rinse the inner part and put in a blender. Make sure to rinse the inner inner part before blending it because there is a very bitter yellow gel between the skin and inner part that can cause major stomach issues and diarrhea. You can always buy large aloe vera leaves at Bali Deli in Seminyak if you don't have access to a plant.Probiotics--> Don't waste your money on them here, good quality probiotics must be refrigerated, which the ones sold here aren't and therefore useless.Other Supplements---> You can try GNC and some of the vegetarian restaurants like Bali Buddha, Zula and Earth Cafe.

Thanks again Natasha (you also helped me with my scooter questions a while ago).I just emailed Bali Deli about the manuka honey. Might save me lugging it with me to Bali. Also, hadnt thought about making Aloe Vera juice. Will give it ago at home first as I have a plant and see if I get all of the washing of the inner bits right. The last thing I want to do is upset their stomach further!

Helicobacter pylorijust out of interest, has she been tested for Helicobacter pylori bacterium?my understanding is that about 70-80% of ulcers are caused by this and can be treated accordingly (pretty sure treatment is available in Bali)

You might want to ask Bali Deli what grade the Manuka Honey is (they have different probiotic levels and for treating stomach issues the higher the better, like +16 or +22. Its more expensive, but better to pay the extra money and get a good product. It might be cheaper to get it in Australia cause everything imported here is heavily taxed). As for the supplements, try getting them in Australia first, you'll have more of selection, better quality, cheaper price.

@phil170258 I am not sure of all of the ins and outs. I will be in Bali in a few weeks time so I will find out more information then. The ulcer was bleeding at one stage and he was admitted to hospital (6+ months ago). He now sees a doctor and internal specialist in Bali when it flares up and I believe that he has been on medication ever since going to hospital. He asked me to look into treatment options in Australia and research ulcers (as they do not have access to a computer or the internet) and I have been reading about the pylori bacterium. As they are not physically in Australia it is hard to find information as they cannot go to a consultation. A natropath friend of mine suggested the items that I posted on the forum as basic options that she can recommend without a consult. My friend is convinced that it is stress related but I keep telling him that it is caused by bacteria and not stress, but stress could possibly be making it worse? Doesn't sound like much fun to me..@natasha when I emailed bali deli i asked what UMF strength and quantity they sell (and also the price). Will be interesting to see if I get a response. As you have suggested it might just be easier to buy everything in Australia and take it with me.Thanks again. Really appreciate both of your input.
