Visa on arrival question

Hi all I have a U.S. Passport. I am flying from Bali to Singapore and back again on the day of November 22nd. I am planning to get a Visa on arrival for 30 days when I come back in to Bali. From what I understand the Visa on arrival can be extended to 60 days but I can only extend it after I am already in Bali. My question is if the Visa can only be extended after I am already in Bali will it matter that on my ticket I will be flying back to the U.S. well after 30 days on January 10th? They will still let me through the airport back into Bali right? Thanks Abe

As long as your ticket leaving Bali is within 60 days there definitely is no problem.

You can also get a 60 day visa before travelling from the nearest Indonesian Embassy. This will save you time in Bali to extend the 30 day Visa with another 30 days.

I am going to be in Singapore for 4 hours. Is that enough time to get the Visa extended to 60 days? There is no place you can get your Visa extended inside the Singapore airport is there or do you have to go through customs into Singapore proper to get that done?

Whatever visa you have in Indonesia will be cancelled when you leave the country. Because Singapore is a different country THEY can't issue you a visa for Indonesia, it has to be done by the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore Basically 4 hours just isn't long enough to do anything, other than have a beer & admire the efficiency:- You have to enter Singapore by going through immigration & customs (call it 22 minutes from plane to taxi) Then go to the Indonesian embassy (another hour) stand in a queue (er... 2-3 hours) I don't think the embassy issue same-day visas in any case. You'd also have to check on the opening hours - most of the embassies tend to shut their visa section down @ about 3pm & have a system: Apply in the morning collect in the afternoon (not always on the same day!) So I guess the answer is no.
