Surfergirl1982 Hi Am staying in Nusa Dua next month and need to meet friends in Kuta one afternoon I know the traffic will be horrendous due to the work going on with the underpass Could anyone give me an approx time in a taxi? I was told 1.5 to 2hrs? Is there a better time then others to go? Thanks in advance
sakumabali Hi surfergirl, I live in Nusa2 and went often to Kuta in the last time, the answer: nobody really knows how long it gonna take with a car ;-) with a motorbike maybe 40 minutes The problem is you never know if there's an accident somewhere, a ceremony, a demonstration etc and even if all is standard flow there might be some lunatic drivers who like to park on one lane....just start a bit earlier and enjoy beach life while waiting
Surfergirl1982 Thanks sakumabali Thanks, I have been getting varying answers!A local friend who lives in Nusa Dua says 15mins!! Someone else said 1,5hrs I will prepare myself for an hour journey and hope for the best! Lindsey
davita If coming from Nusa i wouldn't suggest routing by Galleria and the underpass construction. Turn left after the airport runway and right into Kuta.

Surfergirl1982 Oh it is a Saturday I am going into Kuta on a Saturday :ambivalence: I guess I might have to get a motorbike taxi, might be the quickest way but I didnt want to arrive with helmet hair! would rather arrive fresh out of a taxi!!! so the airport way on a Saturday around 11am would be no good?
balibule 11 AM will most likely still be OK. 3-4PM is when mayhem usually starts although I have had Saturdays with little traffic as well. It's very difficult to predict.
BKT From 10am to 3pm you'll be fine. I went from Nusa Dua to Seminyak at 2pm a few days ago, rolled right through Simpang Siur with out stopping
Markit A light must go on in peoples heads when we get a whole thread in the forum not about traffic in general or Balinese drivers per se, but about a single trip on some Saturday between 3 and 4pm. This really has to choke the chicken - anyone want some advice on how to cross over from the south side to the north side of the by-pass? (run like feck!) People! If you are south of Sanur you are doomed! Even then your chances aren't much better until you get to Gianyar.

balibule josephhinds wroteBut its depend on your ability of driving a Car or Motorbike!!! Macet is macet regardless of how good or bad a driver you are.
