Acquiring limited stay visa

Hi everybody! I'm planning to move to Bali with my family and we want to get a limited stay visa for at least a period of 2 years. I've been checking the requirements and one of them is that the sponsor has to take personally to the main immigration office in Jakarta the invitation letter which is the main requirement to be able to apply for the LSV. Since we don't know anyone in Bali it might be difficult to find a sponsor but it sounds almost impossible to make that person to go to Jakarta. Does anyone know another way to get the LSV? Maybe we have to go there with a tourist visa and then to try this operation? Is it possible to get the LSV being there with a tourist visa? We want to avoid the visa run trips because we have one baby and we are expecting the second one in April. One more question, I'm a musician and in case we go I'd like to perform there. Does anyone know if it is really needed a working permit for this kind of job? Thanks. I hope everybody is feeling good today.

ok thanks i did already and i understand more or less how it works i think our best choice will b to get a sosbud or a tourist visa my question is :which is the difference between them? i understood that you get at first 60 days extendable 4 times of 30,is that with both? thanks again

According to many Embassy/Consul websites the Tourist Visa is for 60 days and is NOT extendable. Many will disagree as they have achieved extending Tourist Visas, especially in Bali, but I think relying on that info is risky. A Sosbud (which is extendable monthly for up to about 6 months) needs a sponsor from the area you intend to reside in Indonesia. If a personal sponsor is not available many agents will do this, for a price.

My husband and I wish to apply for the retirement visa the only problem I can see at the moment is how to go about this as we are currently living in Egypt. We are both British nationals with full british passports and I am only 45 - does anyone have any help/suggestions/hand holding on how to go about this. Thanks Aggie

If your husband is 55+ he can, at the same time as he applies for a retirement visa, sponsor you for a spousal visa. I'm doing the same with my wife as she is under age for her own retirement visa. There are many Agents registered to apply for Retirement visas. It is required to use an agent to sponsor a retirement visa so that is your starting point. Choose an agent and get them to advise process.
