spicyayam If only my wife was more interested in traveling around Indonesia...Off the Beaten Path in Indonesia - Scene Asia - WSJ
mugwump Try going down from Siririt to Pupuan and on to Pekutatan. Lovely scenery, great views and lightly traveled. Let me know when you might arrive in Pekutatan and I will be delighted to show you around and pop for a cool brew.
ronb mugwump wroteTry going down from Siririt to Pupuan ............. Well, to go "down" you would have to try very hard indeed - it's "up" all the way.
tintin Of all these "off the beaten path" places, I've only missed the Banda Islands and Moyo. I am certainly not the "great white explorer" of lore, and I will agree that these places are only "off the beaten path" when compared to Kuta. For example, Menjangan, the closest of these places to "home", is so much out of the way that it has been practically destroyed over the last 15 years or so, by the hordes of divers and other creatures. As for Moyo Island, it's really "off the beaten path," if you don't have US$1,000/night (plus 21% tax) to room in a tent (but what a tent!).:friendly_wink:
