I have a small resort that we are nearly ready to open in Bali and am looking for a good accountant. Someone that specialises in Australasian accounting would be ideal. Can anyone make a recommendation ? Thanks

so you have a resort in [B]Bali[/B] Make money in [B]Bali[/B] and you want an aussie accountant ? why not an Inodonesian accountant for the RI taxes . I sure the tax man will visit

I am happy to have an Indonesian accountant, but it would be good if they also knew the Australian tax laws. So ideally someone who specialises in Australians that have foreign investments here in Bali :-)

I think you might be better off with a lawyer specialised in domestic + international tax, since you're looking for advice and not a number-cruncher. There are some australians on this forum who own resort/hotel/resto/bar, might be worth it to try and ask on here before asking an accountant or lawyer.

I would assume that you treat the resort as an investment on a separate business entity, so you don't have a lot of Aussie tax matters beside reporting your investment and its dividend. Anything more than that would make your life more complicated than how it should be
