Yogiem
Hi,
We're moving from the UK to Canggu at the end of July. We want to rent a villa/apartment while we settle in and find a permanent place to rent. Our budget is $2000 for the whole duration. From around 20th July for around 6 weeks. Is that realistic? We need A/c and have a 7 year old & 15 months old baby so need something suitable for kids. Pool not essential but would be nice... My daughter will go to CCS so we need something not too far from there.
Can anyone give me any advice on the best way to find somewhere? All I can find are holiday rentals on the internet and I know it's a busy holiday time so prices are high...
Any advice is much appreciated!

Hi Yogiem. Try airbnb dot com. Very good site and there were lots of options when we were looking a few weeks back - note that July/August is peak period and you are getting close to that.
We will based in Canguu 4.5 weeks starting late July chose a 2 bedroom villa with pool, aircon, wifi, maid, .... for approx. AUS$1,800. We could have gone cheaper and a lot more expensive.

We ended up staying at Rare Angon Villas in Kerobokan, we're still here. So far it has been brilliant. Really nice place with a communal pool so safe for our toddler. We got a great price for a month and the owners have been really welcoming and helpful. I highly recommend the place.
I actually found it in the Bali Advertizer eventually!

Great to hear Yogiem. Do you think you'll stay in Kerobokan?
Yogiem
No, I think we'd rather be in Canggu, my daughter is at the school and the school run is still a bit scary! We're looking to rent something much closer to the school. How did your place in Canggu work out? Are you still there?

Yeah, we've driven through school traffic and it is full on. When your daughter gets to about 11, seems you can put him/her on a scooter and they can get themselves home. :friendly_wink:
We are in the place at Canggu. Quiet where we are, enjoying it and happy we based ourselves here. We do like to get out for a dose of "action" in Seminyak/Legian at times. Steve.

I know it happens but not what I would recommend!
