hca Is any one aware of how far the Speedy rollout is progressing towards Seririt from Singarajar? Is it available as far west as Lovina as yet. I cant get a sensible answer from Telkom's website but I have been told FO cables are currently being installed in the area. As I understand it the only current options are a possible GSM solution or install a vsat.
spicyayam I would imagine that it is available. Development in the area really seems to be growing. Of course you still need to have a telephone line installed.
hca Thanks all for the responses, I hear there is a Telkom office in Seririt so a visit there next week may yield meaning full info. The tactic may be to get a line installed ASAP before the rush on lines for ADSL. Cheers.
noodlelover We just registered to get telephone line along with Speedy last Monday in Telkom Singaraja for our house in Kaliasem but unfortunatelly the network is already full and they dont know yet when the new one will be available :icon_sad:. They said epends to how many future customers will apply in the area....sighhhh.....now we are depending on 3 (Tri)
noodlelover Dear Spicyayam, would love to get his number. How much did you pay him last time and how long did it takes since registration untill its done? Thanks in advance!
noodlelover Thanks for your info Mike (Spicyayam)! I wanted to reply directly but it needed me to have more post to be able to get the full private message function :-P. Would like to know how much you paid last time with his help. As 1 of our side neighbor have 1 telephone I was thinking it would be easy to get 1 too but not actually.
balibule spicyayam wroteI will send you the number of a guy who helped us get a line. It's worth a try. I'm not sure but sometimes I think they do have numbers available but they keep them back hand and sell them at an 'additional fee'.
spicyayam I have a sent a PM, so it will be interesting to see if anything comes of it. I had the same problem as noodlelover with the first two houses we lived in. Where I am now, the problem was that we just didn't have a line close to us and we had to pay for a line and the poles to get to our place. I am sure the first quote we got from Telkom was something outrageous so we didn't go through with it and were happy at the time to use the radio transmitter. That provider then doubled the price overnight for the same service. I mentioned the problem to a friend here and got that guy's number. He just does telephone lines, but when we have had problems getting in contact with someone from Speedy he has also been very helpful. I can't remember how long it took, but I know it wasn't long. About a day or 2 to put up the poles and another day to install the router. It has only gone down a couple of times since then. Once when they were cutting down trees and once during an electrical storm.
