Tour of Bali and East Java

Im going to be touring Bali and East Java in October. I want some ideas please for a backpacker who likes overland travel ,Scenery ,nature and a bit of nightlife. What are te best places to visit? thanks in advance

Some places to see in East Java include: * Mt Ijen where sufphur is carried by men from the crater lake, up to the rim, and then down the same path you walk up - see Ijen - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, * Baluran National Park you can rent simple rooms in the park - see Baluran National Park travel guide - Wikitravel * Watu Ulo, south of Jember on the coast - see Jember travel guide - Wikitravel * train travel is good, I like the executive class day trains - you get to see plenty.

Unless you fly (Banyuwangi in East Java now has an airport), don't miss West Bali. There are several cheap surfer type hotels in the Pekutatan/Palukan area that have fewer people and lovely scenery....plus a side trip north from Pekutatan by bus that offers awesome scenery on good road by bus with varied stops and interersting hikes.The area east of Gillimanuk is mountainous, has a Natl. Park and some small very neat villages.
