I pay for a couple of kids,
SMP...total per kid per year between 500K and 1jt. different prices for different schools.
SMA/SMK...total per kid per year between 2,5jt and 5,5jt.
kuliah/university depends wich level D1,2,3 or S1,2,3, what direction and wich university ofcourse.
Not to doubt what Gilbert pays but we have looked into the fees in great length and pay for 140 children around Bali, we have attended their schools, and the government departments that are in charge and we do not pay any fees at any TK/SDN/SMP, we don't have any kids attending SMK or university, the children go to schools in 4 different regions and we do not pay any school fees whatsoever, in fact the government has told us that unless the children want to study computers there are not fees at any TK/SDN/SMP (after speaking to friends with kids at other schools around it seems the norm). we pay for books and uniforms, budget is up to 380,000IDR per year per child. Once they child goes to SMA you pay up to 100,000IDR per month (that's the most expensive we have found and that is a school in Singaraja), also note you pay for 10 months in total due to school holidays.
I should clarify, we personally don't pay, it's through our business, cheers
