This morning at 6:40am, as motorbikes carrying school kids were buzzing by, this balloon collection was beside the road in Kutuh Kaja, Ubud. Preparations are underway for a cremation ceremony, and balloons will be part of the festivities. At first I thought it was just a motorbike with balloons swaying in the breeze, then I realized the owner was there napping, complete with helmet on. Twenty minutes later as the sun shone in, he was awake and walking about, young, well dressed, and I guess, looking forward to a successful day.

Sometimes when I see people carrying gigantic kites on the back of small motorbikes, I day dream of riding off a cliff just to see what happens - obviously I know imminent death is what would happen. These pics conjure the same silly flights of fantasy. Perhaps one day, one of my old skydiving / BASE jumping, dare devil, loony mates (from years gone by) will indulge me and ride off a very high cliff with chute attached of course. Before everyone starts writing to tell me how stupid I'm being....save your fingers the fingers the energy, I know I'm being stupid. Just thought I'd share some silly thoughts.

Love motorbikes and used to love flying. Lucky the Wright brother's didn't have internet forums in which to share their wacky thoughts.

:adoration: Cool pic :).Wonder if he was dreaming of an south-american land with talking dogs and rare birds...(Hope you saw 'Up' the movie to, otherwise i prolly sound a bit silly ::highly_amused: )

Well, I didn't see the movie. Tell me again about it. But, I like the whole tone of this communication beginning with the very special photograph. It is all mystical and dreamy in the best way- magical realism I think they call it in literature, like Gabriel Garcia Marquez. Bali must refer to that in many ways. I hope so..
