Karim Hi ! I plan to spend a week in Gili air in a few weeks. I travel with my 2 kids, 2 and 5 y/o. Who know a quiet place, close to a very nice beach, and not to expensive. Thanks a lot ! KArim
kiwi Just got back from diving at the Gili's nothig is very far from the beach at Gili Air, I did not stay on Air but the harbor side is nice. Watch the currents when swimming they can be very strong with certain tides

Tiggy Ya I think it depends on budget really. Things are still cheap atm so thats a bonus. From reading the new lombok guide it looks like there is a fair bit of construction going on on gili air, so you might want to check if where you end up staying is affected by loud/dirty - if that bothers you. I've been there a few times on diving day trips since I live close-ish, but never stayed over so I don't really have any personal recommendations. I've always been a fan of the scallywags restaurants I've been to, and if they run the hotel with the same standards then I reckon that would be a winner. I will ask some friends tomorrow if I have time. As everyone said, its a nice quiet island and no where is far from a nice beach.
