ronb wroteWell, I look at their web-site and am not impressed. Very little real information. The only service mentioned is a 128K unlimited service which is slow. I didn't see any prices on the web-site. But if existing customers are telling you it's OK, then give it a try. You don't have much to lose.
It does show different packets and prices on the website (on the far right hand side of the home page )...,
There is also a 384k unlimited for rp200,000 , which smart offer the same for 100,000 - but in reality , with smart im lucky if I get dial up speed (56k) lol when your paying for 384k .
but it also shows ..., " up to " - 512k for rp300,000 - 1mb for rp600,000 - and 2mb for rp900,000 .
With any internet plan , they all use the famously dubious " UP TO " , when refering to speed , to get out of any blame for promises not delivered .
- With smart my promised up too 384k shortfall was a consistant super slow speed to non existant for 80% of the time ..., and had acceptable speeds for 20% of the time ( but never ever anywhere close to 384k )..., but my friends channel 11 connectin is consistantly " up there " in the high figures of the speed plan that was paid for , which is good .
Smarts speed depends on how many users are connected at once . If many are then it sucks the bandwidth dry and you get nothing .
With channel 11 they claim a 1;1 ratio bandwith which means you get the full bandwith and also better signal strength from the antenna than from a dongle ..., your not affected like the scenario with smart .
But like you said Ron , if its working good for a friend then it may be worth a go . I would still like to hear the valuable opinions of others , both good or bad before taking the recomendation as gospel ..., plus my friend doesnt pay the bills , nor does the staff working in the internet cafe , so they dont deal with tech support , the company , and with paying the bill , etc :)
