Hi there,
My family and and I are planning to sail through Indonesia for a few months this year. We are applying for a social visa but have one burning question-
How early can we apply for an extension to our Sosbud? In our itinerary we would like to apply for an extension after about 35-40 days after arriving in Indonesia- is this too soon?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

Dave,
If i'm not wrong the social visa allows you to stay 6 months.
When you arrive to Indonesia you have 60 days and after that you need to make a monthly extension of the social visa at the immigration office.
You should go to the immigration office about one week before the expire date of the visa in your passport.
I don't think you can ask for an extension after only 35-40 days.
Best of luck.

another thing too think of maybe, if you've not already thought of this...
your social visa needs to be extended at the imigrasi closest to your sponsors adress.

Thanks for your replies- I thought the rule about the immigration centre being the same as the one that you applied at was no longer applicable?

as far as I know, you can't extend this month here and the next month somewhere else.
