TomYum Hi All, I have a contract here for 12 months. I've got a work visa (KITAS?) and I think my school has paid for the work permit (IMTA?). Anything else I need to do to be legal?
gilbert de jong Hi TomYum, if you have the KITAS then for 100% sure that the school has paid for your IMTA, these go hand-in-hand. if you want you could apply for a NPWP, actually you should since you're supposed to pay Tax over income made in Indonesia. pay a visit to your nearest tax office (on Bali) bring your KITAS and apply for a NPWP. congrats by the way on the contract :)
TomYum Hey, thanks Gilbert. Don't I have to be here a while to get a tax number? 180 days or something like that?
gilbert de jong nope..since you are a holder of a kitas and workpermit, meaning you would generate income...and Indonesia would not say no to someone eager to pay tax :icon_wink:
Supershanti Hi. I have received my Kitas & IMTA thru a company who is willing to sponsor me at a fee..., but i do not plan to work here. I just need a one yr Kitas to avoid having to renew visa every month & having to leave the country at 6 months. can i check if i still need to apply for tax number if i do not have income from Bali?
gilbert de jong if they come knocking, you'd be better off having one supershanti. trust me in the companies books, you are on the salary-list.
spicyayam If I was you, I would be a little worried. I have heard of people having problems when immigration actually come to the company's office. Check out this thread for example: Manpower Visits
