I think it depends on what passport you are travelling on. Since you only have a green card and not a US passport (I presume) you will travel on your dutch one. Since the Netherlands is on the list of countries able to be issued a VOA I cannot see why it would be a problem. The only conflicting information I found online regarding green card holders was in relation to those with a nationality not on the VOA list. Since USA and NL are both on it - should be no worries.
I am not an immigration official, just using logical deduction :)

While looking into visa requirements for Bali I noticed that for some countries you can purchase the tourist visa upon arrival. USA was included in this list. My wife is a US citizen and I am a Dutch citizen, yet have lived in the US for the last 8 years. I have a green card and was curious if anybody knows how the visa works for people like me. When researching I found some conflicting info, some where saying getting a tourist visa before hand be wise others said getting a tourist visa upon arrival will be fine. Any experience or suggestions much appreciated!
Just in case this matters we are planning to stay up to a month, possible looking for a cabin near the beach. Any tips in that arena also very welcome. I'll be browsing this site more too. Any must see threads, let me know. Again thanks for any suggestions. Namaste.

got a green card myself, and it's no problem to arrive with your dutch passport and just buy a VOA...(just like tiggy said)
since you're planning to stay under 30 days, that would be the visa suitable for your purpose...
if you want to stay longer, you would need to go the Indonesian Embassy and apply for a 60 day tourist visa.
for this you would be using your NL passport and your wife her US passport.

Netherlands was added to the VOA list in May 2006.
