does anyone know if I can change my social visa sponsor half way through? my 60 days are about to expire and I would like to use a new sponsor for extensions - is that possible??? thanks for the help.

I suspect it is not possible. If you have a strong reason for wanting to get away from you current sponsor, get a letter from your new sponsor and then do a visa run to Singapore or some other city that appeals to you.

Its not me wanting to not use him, he for some reason doesnt want to do it. I think last time we renewed my hubby forgot to pay him. I am finding in bali some people are not what they seem - its all about money. would love to do a singapore run, but do I have to take my kids or can I do it just with their passports??? will they stamp them for me at the airport?? but we are a bit too poor to pop to singapore atm - just payed the 12 months advance rent....:icon_e_sad:

For a social buday visa I think not. Any Indonesian can do this.

If your kids are on the same social visas, then they need to do the visa run with you. If they are at school and are on student KITAS, then you can leave them behind

after meeting a nice immigrasi lady at her home/friend of a friend. she helped me write a letter in bahasa so fingers crossed it will work out all ok. I must say though, I did offer to pay my sponsor for his time and he didnt even bother to answer, after begging him to sign the letter withdrawing his sponsorship still no reply. so the kind lady at immigrassi has sorted that out. hopefully. only cost 1.2million so far in fees!!!!!!!!!!!!! now i have a new sponsor and will return to australia in a couple of weeks and get a new visa with his name removed. still makes me sad, and a bit peeved it is all about money i have known the sponsor for about 5 years.:icon_e_sad:

if he is your friend of 5 years..why must you pay him?? When I went on my sos bud I asked the consulate about swapping Sponsors incase something went sour and they said it was no problem mid visa but you can only do it 1 time on that 6 month visa.. Maybe use an agent as a sponsor?

Sounds more like an acquaintance than a friend. I have almost the opposite problem, I have a few friends here that refuse to take money, it gets a little uncomfortable at times when we go out to eat and they insist on paying for everything, sometimes I have to excuse myself early and beeline to the cashier before they do.

About to get my 3rd sosbud extension and have been asked for my sponsors KIPEM ??? Can anyone tell me what that is and why I need it ?? Problem being is my sponsor is out of the country and I dont know if she has access to it.

you're welcome...just ask one of your neighboors, to sponsor you...if you can't find someone, then your best option is to use an agent.

On my latest [I]Retirement KITAS[/I], (my seventh one), my "sponsor" [B]is[/B] a visa agent. I got finger-printed and photographed (again) a couple of days ago at the Immigration office. No problems...

what CanonMan probably means is that CV cannot sponsor westerners anymore with a working permit / KITAS?

KIPEM = Kartu Identitas PEnduduk Musiman....or in English a seasonal Identity Card/Temporary ID card..meaning he/she is not from here (Bali), the Imigrasi can see that from the KTP provided. so they ask for a KTP issued in Bali. If your sponsor doesn't have it and is out of the country..then it will be impossible to get a KIPEM, proces... 1: the imigrasi wants proof of residence..your sponsor needs to go to the kepala desa (or pak RT/RW and on to the Pak Lurah) ask for a surat pengantar, in this letter stated they know your sponsor. 2:Surat domicili, also from the kepala desa (or pak rt/rw,lurah) 3:they (kecamatan) could also aks for a statement from the employer that your sponsor is working for them. 4: bring the papers to the kecamatan and pay 50K rupiah, wait for three days (tops) and pick up the KIPEM. probably easier to change sponsors ;) make sure your next sponsor holds a KTP of the area wherever you're dealing with imigrasi. hope it works out for you..

Just found out I cant change sponsors mid visa but immigration can 'help me out' for a fee...... Thats if i cant get my sponsors KIPEM. Gotta love Bali :highly_amused:

hahaha...yeah if you can get the KIPEM, they are actually not helping out but just doing their job..helping would be forgetting about the KIPEM, or accepting change of sponsor.. maybe you can contact Bali Ide or another visa agency to get some help regarding your extension.

Iv had Bali expat services doing it. As long as I can get this and my last extension done Im all good, Ill either get the family Kitas or another sosbud through someone else. Fingers crossed :icon_wink: Thanks.
