Hi all,
I'm planning to move to Bali in the next couple of years and was wondering, have any of you taken your car into Bali? What sort of red tape occurs and do you know of the costs associated with doing so. Any info will help...
thank you
Tony

car import
I checked out bringing a car to indonesia that i owned in australia, a lexus i have owned for nearly 5 years and i would value at $30k but it was going to cost me another 70k! I forget which import taxes were involved exactly but they were very high. You are also having to face even with paying the govt legal import fees the freight forwarders and customs agents may take advantage of you when the car lands and if you dont 'accomadate' them then your stuck with a car in customs and storage charges or even confiscation.
