BKT wroteZoyra was told you need a Spouse sponsored Kitas before getting one, and seeing as though you're not legally allowed to work on a Spouse Kitas you'd be jobless/unpaid for 2 years. That doesn't sound right though, surely you would be allowed to convert a normal working Kitas to a Kitap.
if you hold a working kitas for two years in a row with the same employer, you could apply for a KITAP with workpermit. Only thing is that if the company you work for goes bust, so does your kitap. you can't change fro"forced to be un-employed" for two years...
@goldminer, you can't go straight for a KITAP, first get the KITAS sponsored by wife and before you can get that, you get the sosbud sponsored by wife. In the period of 6months of this sosbud start the application for getting the KITAS...after 6 months you don't have to leave the country to pick up your kitas abroad, ofcourse you can but you would have to let them (imigrasi) know where abroad you want to pick it up.
btw, haven't had time yet to check out that school, sorry mate..but will do so ASAP.
about prices..."no hassles" price for the spouse kitas, "no hassle" meaning just bring your passport and wife's KTP and weddingcertificate,
5jt for local pick up...3jt for abroad pickup. maybe expensive (?), but no hassles like sending in letters yourself going to get signatures from there bring that back, etcetc...
