Recently I have been staying in Penestanan (just west of the Campuhan Hotel in Ubud), and from time to time drive south of Penestanan on Jl Campuhan 3 to Jl Nyuh Kuning. Half way along you pass this striking new 3 floor bamboo building with banners proclaiming an Indian Restaurant - Warung Om Namaste. So last night we went there and were impressed with the pakora and vegetarian curries that we selected. I think it's the best Indian food I have found in Bali so far. We chatted to Romy Santosh, the owner, and found that it has only been operating one month, and they are currently just beginning on the organic plantation that is to be beside the restaurant. As a guide to price, I give you the Bintang Besar Index (27,500).It is a very quiet location, and although the Money Forest is less than 1 Km to the east, you are completely unaware that there is anything busy nearby.I thought maybe this report would be it's first mention on-line, but it is already on Ubud Vibe.I attach a Google Earth location map - sorry about the side on labels but I prepared it with North on the RHS (Fitted the screen better), then rotated.

Nice review Ron. Sounds well worth checking out. The Bintang index is a great idea :icon_biggrin:

Hi Ron, Great slip if it was one - the Money Forest - I think I'll keep it that way. I love Indian food so will give it a try when next in Ubud.

Ubud would be a good place for a Bali forum meat (sic:icon_wink:) as is sort of central to the island too. But I won't be able to attend this one as am freezing ass off in UK at the moment:icon_e_sad: but please post pictures.

There are a bunch of us within travelling distance around Ubud.

how about a balipod meet and eat/drink? if anyone's up for it?
Sounds like a pleasant idea. May well be able to fit it in as I'm buying for my container in the Ubud area regularly.
