Panorama Cottages II in Kuta is great, we stayed for a month last year annd it was 3 mil for the month.. slept 4.. They dont have a website or email address so you would have to "wing it" and book it when you land.. if its not peak/high you will be fine.. If you have lcal friends they can go and bo it for you.. Its about a 5 minute walk from Jl Legian, maybe 15 from bounty/paddys... For short stay Sayang Maha Mertha is great rooms ranging from $12 - 30 a night.. Maybe someone else cn help but I dont believe you can find cheap places like most other SE asian countries n the south of bali.. Or look on couchsurfing. Many locals have places you can stay for free/small price and you may get to experience things yu never probably would otherwise and you will always have a friend smewhere else in the world that yoou will learn s much from.. Ive not couch urfed in bali but I hve in vietnam.. Was pretty cool..

hello there just info, cheap in legian/kuta u can find in poppies area but crowded.. for example..ayu beach inn in poppies 1 the rate average 150 000 IDR/night ok enjoy...

After looking at it Id say you need a tlpn # or wait until your there. Id recommend going on tripadvisor, contacting a frequent stayer or look at baliboyle / boylebali.com and ask them for contact details

Try out... TUNE HOTEL. There is one in KUTA and another in LEGIAN. Bookings can be made online. Rooms are small but very clean..bathroom is attached.

My son and his friend stayed at Suka Beach Inn a couple of years ago. I wouldn't recommend it unless you want VERY basic accommodation. The bathroom had only cold water bak mandi (no shower), no toilet seat, no soap supplied and the room was infested with mosquitoes. During the night, black, slimy worm-type creatures were coming out of the grouting in the walls. The room [I]did[/I] have air-con but it wasn't terribly efficient. He paid Rp80.000 a night for 2 people, so didn't expect much. The price included a basic breakfast.

Finally I'm at Suka Beach Inn, is not too bad and for 110k you have hot water, If you pay 150k you have A/A too. For the beginning is not too bad but I will look for another place soon.

That's great Jaime. At least Suka Beach Inn is close to lots of eating and shopping places and you'll soon get a feel for Bali (well, the Kuta area anyway - not really Bali :icon_razz:). Welcome to Bali!
