We did that Spicy, when renovating our hotel. We bought all the materials ourselves, but still ran into problems.
About 3 months into the renovations, the contractor told us he had underquoted. We had made some changes to the original plans, and he used this as an excuse to ask for nearly double the original quote! We agreed that some changes had been asked for but they certainly weren't equal to double the original contract price! :icon_evil:
After a lot of arguing, we finally came to an agreement on an extra payment for the changes, but, because of the enmity between us and the contractor, we decided we didn't want him here any longer. We finished the renovation using local workers, paid on a daily basis.
