Hi all .. some one can tell me should i translate all my documents when i apply for partner temporary visa in bali as i will married with Australian man in Bali next month. i have read the web site of the visa but too much i should read in there .. headache then ..lol Can I apply for visa after married or i should waiting for time to apply the visa ? maybe some one here has experience about visa and can tell me here. Thank you

Marriage documents will probably be bilingual [in both English and Indonesian] now. So no worries. You want to get a visa for Australia? Are you Indonesian? Your husband will be better off on a social visa. [ It works out cheaper ]

I think you are applying for the partner visa to go to Australia, right? I believe all Indonesian documents will need to be translated into English. The consulate in Bali should have a list of translators who are qualified to do this. I have done this before so you can send me a private message if you need help. The best advice I can give is to read the appropriate section on the department's website: Department of Immigration & Citizenship thoroughly as possible. There are checklists and steps to follow. I believe the medical exam for example you need to wait until the department advises you to get it done. The consulate in Bali or embassy in Jakarta might be able to answer questions and definitely you or your husband can call the department in Australia. But as I said the information is all there on the website - it is just a lot to get through! The main reason applications are rejected is missing or inaccurate information.

The Australian goverment has a visa agents that do all the work, there is no need to the translate your papers. when you go to the visa agent they will give you the address of the the doctor who is contracted by the goverment to fill out the forms & give you your check over. All the paper work is sent direct by the doctor to jakarta. the visa agent is not far from the Australian consulate the address is on the web site. Remember the visa fee [U]no[/U] refund, so make sure you have all the paper work, the pictures & bullshit in order. Once you hand over all the money & paper work you will be given a case worker from Jakarta who will contact you. Good luck & it is easy if you have the paper work.

Not sure about that Springer, my wife had been to Oz twice before we married in Jakarta, and didnt have any doors open faster for us, just had to do normal procedure.

My wife's visa took about 6 weeks which was a pain, as we were in Australia & coming back for Christmas holidays which we had said to the case worker. The case worker wanted us to fly back to Bali to pick the visa there & then. It took a while to talk her around to waiting till we returned at Christmas(2 months) as we had the tickets for then. I know we went to the notaries to have papers signed to say they were true copies, but can't think of anything else. On a funny note when I had to write a essay on how I meet my wife I told them I left school 30 years ago & was not about to write a novel, my wife was writing page after page & gave me the evil eye because I only did 3 lines:icon_biggrin:

I agree with 90% of what you say fred2, however i do remember getting some papers translated when my wife and i applied for tempory spouse visa to aussie. Cant for the life of me think what it was at the moment, maybe alzymers :icon_rolleyes: but we did have to get some done. Good advice about getting it right the first time, as if it is rejected, you have to reapply and pay the fee, 10 million at the time i did it, all over again. On a positive note, our visa was approved exactly 3 months after lodgement. Good luck.

Ah yes, I remember going through the Aussie visa application saga - so many forms, so many lies. I can't exactly remember what I wrote on how we met but it certainly wasn't true. I wanted to say we met in jail or the HIV clinic, but decided it wouldn't be a good idea. I think I wrote a bit of a soppy love story - eyes briefly meeting in a crowded room, holding hands in the moonlight - that sort of thing. When we had to produce more evidence of our undying love for the permanent residence visa two years later, I provided a before and after photograph of me with and without a moustache citing this as proof, since I shaved it off after being nagged about it. They must have some kind of sense of humour because the visas were approved without any problems.

Thanks. We moved out of Brissy two years ago, but still in Queensland. However, we saw pictures of our old house in Graceville on the TV last night and glad not be there now. There is flooding where we are now, but most of the houses here are built on ridges so safe from inundation. The death toll stands at 12 and expected to rise - that is the real tragedy.

Thanks Mat for your advise Yes im Indonesian and i will married with Ausie man and i want to get Australia Visa. I have read all information on the Australian embassy web site .. Too much i have read and i got headache... i wont give up .. lol just wish me luck . thanks Mat

Anyone from Indonesia has to use the Australian government visa agent, VFS Global is the agents the Australian government has contracted to handle all visa application in Indonesia. You need to go to there office & they will give you all the paper work & help you fill it out. You do not have a choice if you want a permit visa.:icon_biggrin:

Thanks Fred .. I have check about visa agent but that should pay too expensive to agency exclude visa fee... for the paper work i will get all, any way thanks so much .

Hi Fred i have lodge my partner visa to Australia, as you said was funny they ask us to write essay i did and print out already but my husband didnt know how to write so when i was in Visa application center i wrote for my husband he just copy and re write what i write .. i got 1 case advisor after i lodge my visa 1 week. seems everything good.. just cross finger hope will get my visa soon.
