Depends on who you talk to, every Imigrasi has a different story to the rules. The process can take between 3-6 weeks, so may be the sobud visa gives you plenty of time to jump through the hoops.
When I started the process I used a sobud visa, at first it seemed a hard thing to do but it all worked out easy. hope that helps
