6 months in Bali

Hello everyone, probably some of you remembers me, I was on this forum almost 1 year ago trying to find advices and experiences on a possible move to Bali from Italy. Things have happened and now me and my family (for some unlucky events related to work) have decided to spend 6 months in Bali from next january, trying to understand and live this wonderful island and see if it's possible to find a little space for us. My questions and concerns: - we'll have a monthly entry for these 6 months of 600 euros; it's possible to live on this monthly base for a family of 3?(just house rent, food and going around); - which could be the best place to start? I was thinking to going out of Kuta because we are looking for something quieter; - has anyone had some experience with "globalexpatrecruiting"? I'm having some contacts with them Any advice, experience or comment is well accepted!! Thanks in advance, Rain

Do I understand this? You want to get rent, food and local travel for 600 Euro a month - or about Rp7,400,000? If you divided that to Rp3,000,000 for rent, Rp3,000,000 for food - then it can be done, but your choice of houses at that price would be limited, and with 9 meals a day for 30 days - you are avereaging about Rp11,000 per meal. So eat local food - no fancy restaurants

If you want quiet, then Kuta would be the last place.

personally I think you will find it tough to live on that. Its not just bout existing with a place to stay and to eat. There is transportation, gas, electric and other costs. You can do it but it is anexistence not living.

we have that monthly base and if we need more of course we can get it, but this amount is what I get from Italy. I would like to be able not to spend more, but of course if we need to go somewhere and to pay a transport we will. Kuta, as I said, is the last place I want to settle...I was just asking if anyone has an insight on which could be an affordable place to stay and in a good position to going around and see. Rain
