Please, please keep it simple. My thoughts so far:1. Can't log in or register2. The home page is too complicated with too many 'options'3. Most people don't even know what a CMS is, for example4. The posts in my web browser (Firefox 3.5.7), viewed on a 19" wide screen monitor are too wide for comfort5. The colour scheme is a dreadful choice (IMHO)I know all these things can be fixed, in time.I don't know who else has had a 'test look' yet, but I bet they'll get a bit of a shock when they do.So far, I think it's a step in the wrong direction.2/10 (and that's being generous). 8)

Thanks for the feedback.I think I will just give everyone a look. Everyone will need to reset their password because they are encrypted and will not move over automatically to the new system. No need to register again, just reset your password. You can see the new forum here:http://balipod.com/forum/forum.phpYou can reset your password here:http://balipod.com/forum/login.php?do=lostpwIt is just what I am testing now. Nothing is final. Avatars and images have still not been migrated. Any problems, feedback is welcome.

Not sure about the home page, too many things on it, and all to the left. The colour is not really my favourite. I find it a bit confusing/complicated at the moment, maybe because I must get use to.

[5. The colour scheme is a dreadful choice (IMHO) 8)
Hey, weren't you the one in an other topic who said colour choice is not a big issue?Spicyayam, if I'm correct you are asking feedback about the forum-section only? Or the whole site?My first impressions (but have to visit a couple of times, so will add more later)-There is a tab "Today's posts" (left corner under Tab Home), on the right there is a block "latest post" Why mentioning it twice? There is a lot of text, I don't know if it is possible, but maybe you could use that space for pictures? Or something you want to pop out? A joke or XXXX of the week etc.-Can you make the subforumtitles darker? (easier for the eyes) I limit myself to the forum section for now.(But: I don't know what your plans are for 'HOME' , but as it is called B E FORUM, maybe the forumsection could be more prominent?)

if I'm correct you are asking feedback about the forum-section only?
Yes, just the forum section. I am still working out the front page. The whole idea is that if there is an interesting discussion going on in the forums, that discussion can be "promoted" to the front page. There are lots of different display options that will potentially make an interesting front page for the website and encourage new people to join. By just clicking on the forum tab or going to that page directly, there shouldn't be much difference from what people are already used to.

1. Can't log in or register
You need to reset your password as the passwords could not be migrated2. The home page is too complicated with too many 'options'
I just started working on this and there is a learning curve for me also. The idea is that interesting posts/news can be brought to the front page to encourage discussion/interest in the forum.3. Most people don't even know what a CMS is, for example
Nor will they be expected to. 4. The posts in my web browser (Firefox 3.5.7), viewed on a 19" wide screen monitor are too wide for comfort
I will take a look at this.5. The colour scheme is a dreadful choice (IMHO)
Hmm, I kind of like it and I thought it somehow suited the forum.I know all these things can be fixed, in time.I don't know who else has had a 'test look' yet, but I bet they'll get a bit of a shock when they do.So far, I think it's a step in the wrong direction.2/10 (and that's being generous).
I hope you and everyone can at least give it a chance. There are so many interesting things that can be done with vbulletin. I know it will take getting used to, but I believe it is a step in the right direction and will ensure that the forum will still be around for some time yet.

I am not mad about the colour scheme either and find the green writing a bit hard to read.

No 5. Brown is my favourite out of that group.

Yeah, I don't mind that one, but I don't like the dark background.

MiSOHey, weren't you the one in an other topic who said colour choice is not a big issue?
Normally it's not (for me), but everything has its limits. So what? I can't change my mind if I want to?The test colour scheme is plain ugly (for me). Several others don't like it much as well. When looking at screen shots of templates, it's important to remember what we're really looking at. An image of a layout! Colours in templates can be changed. I think people shouldn't judge templates simply by how they look, first up. The layout and functionality are more important than cosmetics.

I dont like the lime flat green and i think the picture of the swimming pool is boring... I prefer number 10. As for the rest, it just takes getting used to and its fine to me.

I like this was because it looks clean and simple to me but maybe its what I have become used to

Hi Spicy, i think as a picture "the old and the new", or just pictures of smiling faces, locals, children, lush tropical green. To have a picture of a swimming pool is so touristy, a swimming pool is a swimming pool. Or perhaps a foto of a Hindu deity, Vishna, or Nirashima, or an offering, something which represents the spiritual side of Bali. OR the fishing boats, the colours of the boats. or the beautiful Helliconia plant. Something original to Bali. Just my opinions,, we are all different.
