Jimbo
During the downturn of the last couple of years I lost a lot of money. Not in stocks or bond but in interest and exchange rates. This caused my retirement to be put back whilst I went out and earned some more.I can now see the light at the end of the tunnel and indiscussions with my family we have put a date of November 2010 as the retirement date. It might have been a few months earlier but Maria and I are renewing our vows on the 31st July of 27 years of being together and 25 years of being married.I have just booked the whole family in the UK to fly over and with wags etc there will be 9 of us in total. (Expensive flights) I am also arranging for Marias 9 brothers and sisters to come plus various inlaws, friends and sundry relatives. All in all I expect over 300 to turn up.I am booking a hall and church and want to give to Maria the wedding she never had all that time ago. Will it cost a lot of money that could go to other things...well yes but to me it will be worth every penny or rupiah and a few extra months work to make it happen. Then I intend to build my second home in Indonesia and get my retirement visa but most of all to devote the rest of my life to the woman who has given me all of hers.I will have two months holiday in mid july to mid september, come back here to work off my hand over time. Back to the UK for Christmas and then back to Indonesia/Bali to start my project.Hopefully by then Markit will have finished his house and discovered all the pitfalls so that I have none :D
