I have bought a license for the new forum software (vbulletin) and now planning on installing it and doing some tests. All of the archives and old content will of course remain.Some people have asked for more new smilies, new sections to be added etc. I have been reluctant to make any changes until I converted the forum over. There will of course be a new design. Sorry to the people who like the chokolat background. :o I can post some screenshots of the designs I am considering if anyone is interested. There will be some more advertising which is inevitable so I can try to make a little money back on what I have spent on this project. It will of course be directly aimed at products or services that expats can use in Bali. If anyone has any leads that would be great also.I will then be doing what I can to expand the membership and contributors here. Someone suggested expanding the travel section and that is one idea. I was thinking of having some competitions also. Maybe some business owners here could donate some prizes? :) Inevitably, the changes aren't going to please everyone. Some people won't like the new interface, others will be familiar with it from using it on other forums. Some people have said "if it aint broke..." which if I was a member here I would probably agree, but sometimes, especially on the internet, you need to adapt and change to stay ahead.

I have tried doing design before and I just don't have the patience now. :( Competitions are never easy, but something I have tried in the past to promote a forum I used to run. Thanks for the replies. The brown one does like nice, but I have always tried to use a white or light background on my websites.No one like the various blue or green designs?

Well, I think the style of #10 is promising - could be any colour, but it would be a pity not to have something Bali in the image at the top. Could be from a ceremony, surfing, rice terraces, or whatever. Then you choose the overall colour to go with the image - blue for surfing, green for rice terraces, ... But it would be a pity to switch from the current design that attempts to say something about Bali to something too blank.

I think she is balinese - she looks very much like the painting of lady (like but not actually her) that was the subject of some debate on here a while back as to whether or not she was balinese...and the answer seemed to be yes.

Me, I'm all for greens and turquoise blues. Something that reflects the brilliance of the natural colors here on the island. Shitbrown or black is fine if you are from Chicago or London.Or Pink if you're just out of Sidney? (get it? just out of...) :lol:

Closest to the forum as it is now (which I like) is Brown, but it's too dark/heavy toned.So I'd say:Simple BlackBlue Haze :arrow: Green (fresh + nice colour combo)Photo-story-advise of the week/month...good idea!
