What's Your Favourite DVD Shop - Part I:https://balipod.com/forum/threads/whats-your-favourite-dvd-shop.3469/page-2#post-40177There was a string before about dvd shops. The link is here bali-expat-forum-f2/what-your-favourite-dvd-shop-t21555.htmlIf you're close to Bintang I would advise to go to the Sakura shop close by. I think it's around 200 m further towards Kuta on the right hand side. Usualy the quality of the newest movies isn't good. You can ask them at the shop if the quality is good and they will tell you which dvds aren't good yet.
I haven't bought a dvd in Bali for quite a while ever since I got myself a rapidshare premium account, which works out to be cheaper than buying the DVD's at the store...but that is of course because I have a dedicated internet connection. When I used to buy from the shops I always bought from Softcomp centers of which there are many around any tourist area and all of the staff are knowledgeable and honest about the quality of a particular title.
I also buy my DVD's at Sakura in Denpasar. Always good quality. Staff there will always tell you if the copy is bad.
Quotes are from a topic about movies/DVD's:https://balipod.com/forum/threads/dvd-movies-your-choice-our-pleasure.4051/
