I enjoy the rainy season. I would like it even more if my roof wasn't leaking in 5 places and my landlord didn't say I was responsible for the repairs!

Tell him, if it is your roof you want to tear it down and put up a new one but you want to deduct the cost from the rent... that will get his undivided attention.

Our contract was that I would pay the second years rent this month (after 6 months in the house) but with his agreement I am only paying half and have more time to pay the rest. So I don't feel in a position to rock the boat.

Not for hours..It rained so much last week and everything is still so clammy inside (bedsheets e.g.)I wonder what's the best way to attack this 'problem', open the door & window or use the AC (30 Degrees Celsius or more)

ehm....i always close the doors and windows when it starts to rain, or when the house gets surounded by the clouds. that keeps the moist away from my sheets and such.if it's already wet/moist, take 'm off and when its dry hang m outside to dry.

I don't think the sweet maid would like this...Yes, when it rains I keep everything closed... suffocating is a minor problem...

It's my first rainy season here. It has been raining more here in Lovina than I expected. Lots more insects flying around than usual. Since it is so dry here for most of the year, it is nice to see everything turn green. It's a little cooler but more humid.

I don't think the sweet maid would like this...
Yup, every day now...but she already takes the bedding down (is that correct english?) every morning, beats the hell out of it with a sapoe (long satesticks/bamboo) and hangs them up..later before she goes home she makes the bed. I know.. I am spoiled  .

Before people complain too much about the rain they should maybe read this article on Bali Discovery.
With all of the water problems Australia is having, rain is not something I am going to complain about. I love sitting outside and watching it fall in torrents here in Lovina. Charging people more for their water usage is certainly going to make them think twice before they spray down the road with water.

Someone once asked me what my biggest challenge as in starting a business in Lombok and my answer was then and still is water.

The weather! I just flew back from the goldmine... it was 52 degrees today  Am sure glad to be back in Perth, only 30 degrees.
