OK MiSO, any music? Here is one, the 3rd movement of Saint Saens piano concerto, interpreted by George Li. In this video, recorded 2 years ago in Caracas (Let's hear it for Chavez!), when George Li was 12 years old! I attended one of his concerts last year, in Cambridge: although I had a seat near the front of the hall, I did not see him very well through out the concert, because of my teary eyes. This performance is in the class of Philippe Entremont, THE top interpreter of Saint-Saens. The kid is not a prodigy, he's a genius. :) :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a7BrIHzmNXo&feature=related

@TinTinThe piano was my first love...It was a joy watching the boy doing his thing. He was really 'playing' this toy. He is not from this world...I collect Requiem, and Faure's/Durufle's is one of my favs. I have a routine: I close the curtains, turn down the lights, unplug the telephone and lie down on the floor. I absorb the music fully so I can listen with my body. Some people get depressed when listening Req. but I feel very complete after a 'session'.@ FordprefectSounds goooood... I used to tap beer while rock, grunge, metal bands played their noise. I haven't been listening to alto rock last 15 years...you're updating me!Mimpimanis, you suprise me with your choice! You're a Ganga Girl! And I should listen more Indomusic...Link to Gilbert's 2PAC:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uWbXQQG9B6c&feature=relatedShow more of your favs, G.

Mimpimanis, you suprise me with your choice! You're a Ganga Girl! And I should listen more Indomusic...
They are not typical of my music collection. Most of my music is from the eighties and nineties. I have bought very little music in the last decade. I was just keeping the music Bali related :D

Heard some good music! Thought I would add some images of Bali too http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vG44jN3hXEU

MiSO,I collect Requiem, and Faure's/Durufle's is one of my favs.
IMHO, Maurice Durufle's is a THE recording of this requiem. When I was a kid in Paris, I often attended the church ceremonies of the weddings or funerals of illustrious "rich and famous" (not to me anyway), at the Catholic church near my home, on Place Victor Hugo (Paris XVI). Of course, I did not know any of these people in whose honor the ceremonies were taking place: it was just for the unique pleasure of listening to the exquisite music. In Paris, to this day, each Sunday, in the late afternoon, there is a free organ recital given in one of the main churches, by a leading player of the organ. I remember having been in several of these recitals when Durufle was performing.

Not being demanding at all...

Tintin, this story doesn't reflect my music taste, as I am into punk/thrash/ blues and others. In the early nineties my then girlfriend and I got a job in France. This was working for Katia and Marielle Labeque. As you probably know these 2 sisters are arguably the worlds best duet playing Mozart. I would be outside watering their garden in rural France, they would be practicing Mozart on their grand pianos. The setting and the sound was incredible. I didn't know anything about classical music, except for watching Amedeus(spelling) the movie, but they took us to their concerts and it was an experience I will never forget
