@RhysGThanks for sharing the translation of the national anthem which "every day before school i had to sing". It's a pity that the lyrics bear little resemblance to the reality of today's Indonesia. I wonder what went wrong? Mind you, all national anthems I've heard suffer from the same problem. What you posted here, with all due respect, might be better as a modern rap song. Or maybe a "reggae version" for Bali. Dangdut version for Java? I-Pop version? I better stop there in case I get slapped with sedition charge. And greetings to borborigmus for remembering his password. Are you the real "borborigmus"? If so, I love your blog. Look forward to more posts from you, here, if you can be bothered. What shared "childhood language" do you speak of?No need to answer that here. Send me a PM from Legian and visit me/us (in Sanur). We could write/compile yet another book about Bali, as seen from outer space. (Different from Cat Wheeler, Made Wijawa and not focused on birds and butterflies.):frog:
