I was looking in to getting my social visa, I have a sponsor, but I was reading the Indo embassy website when I came across this:
General requirements to apply for Visitation Visas include submitting the following items:
*The application form* which has been completed and signed by the applicant
The original passport with at least six (6) months of validity from the date of submission:
The passport must also be valid for at least six (6) months from the date of entry into Indonesia. A Multiple-Entry visa requires the passport to be valid for at least one (1) year from the date of first entry.
Can anyone confirm this? Is there no hope for me? I apologize for not putting this in the visa section..

Yes, your passport must have a minimum of 6 months on it when you enter the country.

Yes you MUST have 6 months validity or you will not qualify. Don’t even try; well you can try if you like.
Just get a new passport, report it stolen or whatever if you have any problems apply for a new one when the one you have still valid.
Maybe you can get a new one if you explain the situation to your embassy.
About the 1 year for a mult/entry/visa I can't remember but i think it is right also

So Justice are you saying your passport will expire in 6 months? Definitely a good idea to geti it sorted before you leave home. I have gotten a new passport a couple of times overseas. Getting the passport was not too much of a problem, getting the visa replaced was a hassle.

Yes, your passport must have at least 6 months remaining on it when entering the country.
I made the mistake of arriving with 5 months left on mine and was told I would not be let out of the airport and had to fly to Singapore to get it renewed even though I was only going to stay for one month in Bali. However after asking if there was any other options I was "allowed" to pay a "fee" [about the same cost of the flight to Singapore and a good hotel room for the night] to enter as long as I signed a piece of paper saying I would not complain.
Best get your passport renewed. They will check!

Justice, the thing is not only for apply the social Visa you need a 6 month old passport but to get in a plane as well and to flight to any country you need the passport at least older than 6 month.
I forgot about this and once when we were on our way coming from Spain to Bali, they allowed me to flight from Bilbao to Frankfurt but when we arrived to Frankfurt they didn´t allow me to flight and we had to spend one night in Frankfurt and get a new passport on the Spanish embassy there, thankfully on the embassy they were good and make my new passport in a few hours!!!!!!!!!! uhhhhhh I just remember I think they made a new passport just to allow me to flight to Indonesia and when we arrived to Bali I had to apply for a new passport on the Spanish embassy in Jakarta.
I will never understand why they allowed me to fligh from Bilbao to Frankfurt.........they shouldn´t!!!!
Have a good day!

One time I run out of passport’s pages and still had a 6 months visa on it. I applied for a new passport and when I went to Singapore for business I had to show my 2 passport since the visa was on the old one.
I was told to do this and had no problems. I went out of the country twice.
This was 3 yrs ago, now…………
