3 days ago our dog dissapeared, now as it seems together with another dog from our perumahan. Our sweet little dingo who howled so nice when we got home. Just seven months old. An ordinary Balinese dog. Dewi never thought she could love a dog. She said that I thaught her.     We have been searching all around, family helped. We put a price on his head, leaflets in warungs. But no results.Potong is the answer we get everywhere.I wanted him to be free, not behind the bars of our fence all the time. Well he has been free for a short time... Until some Balinese beat his brains out untill he was ready for consumption. The disadvantage of having a healthy free dog....Selamat makan Bali.(I think I will hang some notes around giving a high reward for directions to the people that stole him, we will get us another dog someday, when we don't miss Japie so much anymore, maybe a Rottweiler  this time)

Bert, I know exactly how you feel....When in Bali for 8 months my friend & I early on arrival bought a puppy from Kintamani, it was black & white chubby & long haired. We named him Progna (?) he was very spoilt but very faithful, following us everywhere. We had hair dye from Aust & had coloured his white bit's blue & red, everyone knew little fat Progna. He slept inside our house & we made certain he had no fleas or anything else. One night our friends (Balinese & Seattle) were staying in our place whilst we went to Singaraja to our friends village fora wedding, when we got back our Seattle friend was most distraught, as Little Progna had been stolen....We were so heart broken we had him about 4 months & now gone, he used to cry alnight when we went out etc. It was a huge loss for us, we were told someone had seen him 2 days later in the back streets near our place with some Japanese irls, so we had signs & photo's up looking for him, but never did we see him again. Our friend from Seattle was riding her bike to Sanur a week after Progna went missing & stopped to put her gloves on, out from the middle of nowhere came the ugliest, skinniest, deatliest looking kitten ever, she brought her to us, we called her fugly (?) I am not fond of cats but this thing was just to sad & sorry looking to turn our backs on, so we got her healthy again & she too disappeared....??No more pets in Bali for us!!!But we have now a lovely littl;e Maltese X Shihtzu that Maddison got from Santa called scooby & she is such a character!!!Buy another dog Bert, it will help you, only tip is don't let it look too healthy or someone else will want it!??? :x :?

bert... don't you have walls around your compound? [/quote]No....He was free, and learned quite well to dodge cars and bikes on the streets of our perumahan, they have to drive slow anyway here....A few days earlier Dewi and I went to the place where I made the pictures of "dog food"..I just walked to the cage where they kept the dogs without asking, and damned I saw two dogs, waiting to get killed, and one was very similar to Japie... My heartbeat went up.. but it wasn't him...I became angry with the people "owning" the consumption dogs, especially when this woman asked for money for looking at the dogs... Thinking about starting a little organisation here. Yes you can eat dogs, BUT NOT MY DOG."TAK", Tidak Anjing Kita. Maybe make a map of all "dog food" place around here, making ear marks for the dog, hire a dog satpam or something....
