Today, finally after a few months delay I finally met Nick from http://www.baliblog.com . You usually have an idea about somebody when you are going to meet them. Nick was 'different', he looked a little intelectual to me, not a regular expat, whatever that may be. No offence please, other expats. We talked about the internet, because thats what we both do. We shared some common concerns about the way the internet is organized around Bali. I hope that we, in the future, can do some work together. When we ate a Sate Ayam on the market in Singaraja he said that the city looked a little like a Javanese city, somewhere where you don't want to stay for long... Well, I like it up here Nick... Nick is constantly expanding bali blog with some real nice content, interviews and experiences, have a look at his site....http://www.bali-information.com/forumpics/nick.jpg[/img]Nick, aka The Travel Nutter from Bali Blog in Singarajahttp://www.baliblog.com/guide/000025.shtml

Hey Bert your pic on Baliblog is another cool cat expression!!!I know Nick well. There are pic's of our Balinese wedding on his site from August last year if you fancy a look! (Tracey & Gede's wedding) just do a search..Nick is a very intellectual looking fella, not what I had expected when I met him, but he is doing some pretty good stuff to promote travel in Bali/Indonesia.I had already thought it was you when I read his blog this morning saying he was heading to Singaraja to meet a Dutch expat!Cool that you maybe able to do something together...

Bali BlogI have been reading this site for a while, that's how I found out about this one. He wrote about meeting you. As for putting on weight. Too much Nasi Bungkus. Every time we go home to visit we eat too much, someone always saying Makan!!! I will have to watch this when we move over.
Bert Vierstra
Well...I was confused about the "makan" for a while, but a lot of times its more a statement then an invitation...I am trying to get my wife to learn to cook a bit of western food. So now I am living on a diet of spaghetti, hamburgers, hotdogs and such.Throw in the occasional coke and arak, sit behind your computer a lot and of you go...
