Hello,
Will be moving to Bali in January and looking for a place to rent for a few months in Seminyak. Whats the best way to go about looking for a place ? ( apart from estate agents etc )
Do the cafes still have private advertisements ? Is a budget of 800 - 1200 Euros a month enough do you think ?
I have heard that it is a lot more expensive now than a year ago....
Any help would be greatly appreciated...
Thanks in advance

Best way is to start looking once you are here by going around in Seeminyak, also on Bali advertiser and sings placed on the streets.
Some cafes still have private Adv, Not many
800 - 1200 Euros is more than enough but all depends on you.

Agents aren't too bad. The smaller ones, including the freelance brokers, generally are far more realistic with prices than the big 'luxury' villa people. Getting a notary to look over the paperwork is a good investment, though.
The Bali Advertiser is a reasonable source of villa ads too.
Not as many ads in the cafes, but Krakatoa (or what's left of it) still has a few, and there are always a lot on the board at Warung Gossip in Kerobokan.

Wouldn't surprise me a bit if it has become more expensive, things usually do, but there seems to be a higher demand as usual in renting houses by foreigners, especially the last half year.
I think agents are struggling to get the houses / villas, some of them even posing as clients on advertising sites in order to satisfy their own demand....
