Price of land

Ok first let me say that this is a very broad based question and I am only looking to get a ball park figure. Best guesses are fine. I want to purchase 600 Sqm of land....where? well it can be Ubud, north, west or east but not south. I am not looking for prime beachfront but can be off the beaten track (Not by too much) or in a town or village. The main purpose of the research is to see what I can put in my budget to build my house on. I want to buy not rent or lease. Any help or guide to where to look appreciated.

Lovina Real Estate have one section of their web-site with "Hillside or Village" land A quick scan suggests that prices vary from 12 to 20 million rupiah per are.

Hi Jimbo finally gettin it together - good man. You will be hard pressed to find cheap beachfront in Ubud :lol: as the ocean is about an hour away at the nearest. Ok you asked a serious question and it deserves the same answer: First check out my blog as am just discussing this subject (addy at bottom of my post). Ubud prices 5 months ago where going up (even in the crisis) quite out of the way places where going for 35 - 65 juta(million Rupiahs)/are. Lovina - prices were lowest I saw at 15/25 juta/are but there your problem is water, or lack of it and the heat - Lovina is hot, but some like it like that. Everyone here on the island will tell you that the ONLY place to live is where they live - except me! Do not even think about the Candi Dasa area - it's horrible, bug infested, plague ridden, starvation runs rampant and the desert monotony is only broken by the hurricanes and locust. But land is cheap :lol: Seriously, prices here in Karangasem are on the rise, quickly. There seems to be a bit of a land grab going on due to the near completion of the dual-carriageway from Denpasar to near Padangbai cutting the drive time down to a little over an hour. Right now there are still some deals to be had for around 35juta/are (100 sq.M) Seraya - that's on the other side of the road from the ocean/cliffs - if you want cliff side you are looking at around 60 juta - but what a view! And far enough above the ocean to be away from Tzunamis and salt spray (rots everything)but it can get loud. Can happily put you in contact with the seller, and before you ask, yes I will take a commission - from the seller lol! When in Rome, do as the Romans.... What would be the price for a plot of app. 20 acre at the sea near Lovina, Dencarik, Seririt?
