And when was that housewarmings party?

Looking good. If you need help with anything on it let me know.
Your pictures inspired me to try and follow a friend's build on my own blog not far from where I am living. I thought it would be experience to see what problems they run into before I start my own project at some point in the future.
Markit
Have decided to write a web log about my build here in Bali.
Please visit and tell me what's right and wrong, I don't promise to follow your advice but it will be listened to.
I do truly hope that it will be a 2 way information stream as I have joined and contributed to this forum to learn and ask questions and I hope the results can be seen in the blog now and in the house sometime in the, not too distant, future :)
The blog format is a bit weird and i haven't yet got the hang of adding pictures and "gadget" whatever they the feck are?
My reasons for not doing the blog here on balipod - the offer was kindly made, and thank you again, are that if I find that I don't really have the time (as I suspect) to give my blog the attention it does deserve then I will simple quit. And that would not be fair to do that here - I think.

I will enjoy your visit and sharing the experience with you.

Thanks for the well wishes and offers of help - can you lift heavy things? :)
The house warming comes first when there is a house to warm - at the moment it would be more of a hole-warming

Hey Markit make sure you got some cold beers in March because I'll be stopping by!
Seriously I might drop by depending on how long I'll stay at my sisters' in P'bai. Me and my wife are gonna get married Balinese style in march in her kampung in Tamblang (up north) and I'll be visiting my sister and some friends in P'bai too.
If you have ever eaten in a restaurant in P'bai it might have been hers. You should try it sometime. Just drive to the new square and look for Omang Omang Cafe.
Do you have any idea when your place will be finished?

Happily anytime, but if you want cold beer you will have to bring it cause I don't have electric yet.

I will take it on your recommendation, thanks

Hi Markitt I wasn't sure where to post this as there's various build topics on the forum but as it's directed to you this will do. Tell me to mind my own bees wax if you wish but could you give us a "ball park" figure on what you think the entire cost will be for your whole development ie. land purchase, house/pool construction etc (I realise you're only starting construction). You've posted alot of info including some costings on the forum and your blog so we all have an idea of what's been involved and what the end result will look like but it would be interesting just to see a simple final $ figure attached to whole development??? You might scare me off from attempting similar
Cheers :)

Good question. Love an answer :D

Ok, I've been meaning to do a thread about pricing and I will promise to try and get to it over the Kuningan holidays when no building is happening. A promise! Don't promise to answer all the questions but will try OK? Watch this space

Fair enough Markit :)

Sorry, I keep meaning to redo the blog as a pdf - it is on my list of things to do. All that's left of the blog is this:
Just can't seem to stop the stupid building...

Looks fantastic, good job.
Is that a mini pool or a pond feature with the tree in the middle?
Markit

Oh, I somewhere missed this post!
A nice example of Balinese living with a nice garden! I am impressed (coming from an architect)!
Not much of a blog though! :anonymous:
Thanks for the hand lending thing,
we really 'd love to meet you when we get there (in March)!
