HiMy GF and I are moving to bali for 12 mths in April. We have decided from previous reports that we would like to stay in seminyak. We are budgeting around $250-$300 AUD /week for rent. We would like a nice 1 bedroom villa/unit/suite in a 3-4 star resort or boutique setup with a/c and a communal pool. (Not looking for a standalone house) Is this possi ble on our budget and are there any recommendations. Also as she will be working in denpasar city, whats her best option to commute there from seminyak. thanks

That's about 8-10 million rupiah a month....This should be be enough to get you something you want.I just spoke to someone who got something like that (even cheaper I think), and she told me it was hard to find. Best is to find something while you are there....Easiest would be to use a motorbike (or car) to commute.

Although not my thing, I have many friends who own Seminyak villas as holiday homes/investments. Typical prices these days are USD250-350K. What's a fair return on investment? Do the math. Of course, in these troubled times, there are always folks who desperately need cash.
