Thanks for all the interest and comments. I was tickled to by the whole thing. Just to finish it off I sold all 340 coconuts and they were picked up very quickly. I managed to achieve a fantastic price, wayyyyyy above the market of 900 Rps each, lol the "normal" price is apparently 800 each - I reckon they just offered me 100 more to mess with my mind. Just out of interest I was in Hardy's after the harvest and there the price was a very proud Rp4000, yes, that's a 4 followed by 3 zeros - each! :oops: So for all those that complain about Indonesian import duty on foreign products being 300% check out the duty on coconuts that Hardy's has :evil: Regards from you local Plantation Owner - I will not be going up myself anytime soon.Markit

340 @ 900IDR = 306000IDR or $31USD x 60% = $18.60USD :lol: What a bumper crop :P but atleast the old noggin will be safe. And what did we reinvest all that hard earned money in? scotch? Ah Bali you gotta love it :)

10% went to my next door neighbour, 20% went to the guy that picked em and got stung a lot and the rest was donated to 4 little kids having a good time. Just wish they would ripen more often :lol: Scotch here runs about 600 to 700 thousand a bottle I'm afraid - have to admit if it was cheaper the kids would have suffered :oops:

Present price paid per one coconut by the wholesale buyers in Klungkung and East Bali = Rupiah 1100.-. If the coconut picker selects the big ones, he will get about 1300. Joerg
