Matsalah, do you need to have an Australian address to buy the 1Cover travel insurance?

Pollyanna, yes as far as I know, you do need to have an address in Australia. Maybe you could ask a friend to use their address.

Pronto you will be glad to hear that healthcare here is free. You just need to go to your Kepala Desa (local head man) and get a certificate proving your abject poverty and then take that to the hospital for free or reduced cost treatment. Course the "abject poverty" stipulation might be a small problem but you don't give any information in your question to help us out with. Alternatively you could just check back in the past files for similar questions that have already been answered again and again, and again....

We were horrified at the cost of medical cover and looked everywhere, both Indonesian and International. We took health cover from Healthcare International which worked out at a really good price although we have a hefty excess. We are not sickly people but heaven forbid, if something serious was to happen, then we are covered.

Hi Guys, I have done a brief search on the subject but all info is a few years old already . Looking for full cover Medical Insurance for a family of 3 for 1 year initially. I was assuming to get Travel insurance but I have heard that this is not the best mode of cover for varying reasons. Would appreciate to hear what you guys do and what company you use/recommend. I use these guys: https://www.healthcareinternational.com/ I can only recommend them on price as I've never made a claim and I hope I never have to. I don't use it for the normal everyday medical needs, I just directly pay for those, it's really only to stop us going bankrupt if we need to be medically evacuated or treated for something life threatening in an expensive hospital.
