Hi,
don't know if its in the South as well but here in the North I have some problems with Telkomsel 3G.
First I thought it was my phone, but I have tried a few others and they give the same result.
Phone has a 3G connection (says 3G or H) and when you connect with data (Internet) the signal strenght drops, and keeps dropping until the phone goes offline. (both data and voice)
Then, in most cases, it reconnects, data and voice, but at a lower data rate, the ordinary "G" or gprs connection. Sometimes it switches back to 3G, and sometimes it goes offline for a long time. I do miss a lot of of calls lately, and this is not nice.
I have tried Indosat, but they have no 3G in the North, and ProXL, they have 3G and even Edge in the North, but at my home the signal is only strong for ordinary gprs. I could live with the ProXL, but its for my use very expensive.
Anyone else using the internet and Telkomsel in the North?

Ok.
Had a "talk" with Telkom and it became clear that the girl on the counter didn't want to pursue the problem beyond her knowledge (we are not that far yet in the North, sir), so I am left with a only half working phone.
I decided to leave Telkomsel and its bugged 3G solution in the North for what it is, and after 7 years of a kartuHalo post-paid subscription I will change provider. :(
At least call forwarding works... :D
If you have an advanced phone, use the internet a lot, forget Telkomsel as a provider in the North. At least for now.

Forget about Telksomel, period, wherever you are. (At least for now.)
They promise a lot and deliver very little (if anything).
They've had lots of time to get their act together and as far as I know, things are still very gruesome. They're happy enough to promise a lot, charge you for it, and then screw up, big time.
Some Telksomsel "victims"/critics believe they should be taken to court for false advertising.
In good faith, I tried them and lasted less than two weeks. Still had to pay, of course. It was a complete joke. On one occasion, I couldn't even get a connection in their main office in Denpasar.
People reading this for the first time should not confuse Telkomsel with TelkomSpeedy.

Hi....
I am using a telkomsel simcard, both for my phone (Buleberry, hahaha) and at home for connecting the laptop to the internet via a wireless router. Simpati is Telkomsel right? anyways...I had some problems with the Phone when running around in the north, but at home 3G all the time.
I hope I don't Jinx myself now, as I did with my comment on Indovision on another string, because for the first time I had connection problems (changing of satelite) after I posted I never had any problems, hahaha. But all is good now...hopefully my internetconnection stays ok too.
Friendly greetings.......,Gilbert.
