One thing there is no shortage of, Bert, in this world is bigoted fools. I just hope that this particular one limits his hatreds to mindless postings, for your sake. Tracking this person down is not impossible, as you know, but probably a waste of time in the end. "Involving" police, even more so.Watch your back.

Bert, forgive my question, but what was the point in making this post? You have personal issues with Dewi that you chose to make public on this forum, and you have been provided with insights as to the very plausible source of those rumors about her. You, better than anyone, are well aware of the public accessibility, (Google et all), to posts made here on your forum. Also, on a professional basis, you have gone "head to head" with "you know who" clearly regarded as a paranoid Quasimodo, hell bent on destroying Bali and selling drugs on the internet. You clearly understand that to make a great omelet, it is necessary to break a few eggs. You are successful, and therefore a "fair target" for those who are not, and never will be successful in Bali. Frankly, I'm surprised that you are surprised that such crap can, and will, hit your inbox from time to time. To be perfectly honest, and admittedly somewhat critical, I am disappointed that you would have made such a post without full elaboration of the kinds of circumstances that could provoke such a letter. As it sits, it could easily be perceived by casual readers as rather frightening.

Dear Roy and all others posting on this thread, if you check back to the beginning of the string, you will note that Bert made the initial post over 2 years ago! It's really not relevant any longer.
Roy
         Bloody hell! It's "krisonline's" fault for reviving this "antique" post! Good point Mat's...one should check the dates before posting! None the less, the dating doesn't change my points that one should expect this sort of thing from time to time if one is making omelets. Another point is that the audience now reading this post (now being current again) is vastly greater than it was two years ago.

Very true Roy and with that in mind, Bert may wish to elaborate on the circumstances or delete the thread altogether, but I'll leave that up to him.

Yes, it happened 2 years ago....At that time I was sensitive to it, and really shocked. Now, I have heard, or felt it (or similar) before... Allthough not often....At that time I was fighting out a little internet war, something not visible to anyone, but just known to very few people, and maybe only in my mind.I thought it came from that corner.Forget it, its not important, but sometiimes the Bule is not welcome....
Roy
but sometimes the Bule is not welcome....[/quote]That is VERY true, and it can happen without ANY provocation. It happened to me, in my idyllic village of Bunutan very shortly after I married the most sought after lady in my village, and became the first bule/tamu to every live there. In the end, "I paid my dues" but those dues had nothing to do with money. What I finally learned from my "initiation" was that I was being tested in my resolve and commitment. I passed only because I was, and still am, resolute, and committed. When I look back at those early days on Bali, I understand and fully accept that for me to become a part of my village...I had to earn it.
