Configuring Speedy Telkom on a Mac Os x

Hi All, I just got Telkom Speedy but I cannot configure it for my Mac. The two Telkom guys who came to install said that the provided modem (Star-Net ADSL2+Router) does not work on a Mac. Maybe they are right or maybe that means they are simply not able to. I already asked for help in this forum and could not solve the issue yet, but thinking of future Mac users with the same problem, I open this thread to make their life a bit easier. I also hope to find some more help from users who had the same experience. In any case I'll keep this thread updated. So, the situation now is: - I can use my XP laptop (I am using to write this) - I cannot use my Macbook OS x 10.4 The closest help comes from Bert Vierstra who said

I know this is the right direction as I kind of recall doing the same thing somewhere else lately. Following that search I checked this http://www.owlnet.rice.edu/owlmac/dhcp.html Result: my Network Status says I am online but my browser says no (and Skype says no too). Well, let me do some more research and see what happens.

nope! I had to buy a wireless router
