Can anyone tell me if phone 'Pulsa' expires after 3 months. I loaded some into my phone 3 months ago and now it does not work. I can receive but not send SMS. Balined

Hi Balined, Yeah, your pulsa has an expired date.There is however a timelimit to how long your number stays active, but since you can still receive sms, you only have to buy some new pulsa and you can call and sms again. As far as I know your 'old' pulsa is not gone but will still be there and reactivated with the new pulsa adding to it. Depending on which provider you use, you can check that expired date(loss of number), I only know the Telkomsel number...*888# press 'dial', a message will appear in your screen with a date. I think it depends on your provider. A lot of them shut down the number completely after a period of time and you have to buy and register a new number.

[b]Long Term Pulsa...!!![/b] Thought I'd relight this old thread to find an answer. While I realise pulsa expires after a certain time limit, if you buy recharge pulsa and not activate it will this also expire??? The reason I ask this is that in a couple of weeks I will be in Bali to set up our company and finalise papers. While I am there I would like to get a local sim and phone number. The problem is that I will be returning to Australia until December before the permanent move and would like to retain the phone number for business reasons. Can I buy 7 months of pulsa and top it up each month from Oz???? Anyone got suggestions...?

I don't know how you would do it from Australia. A simple way would to give someone some money and ask them to top it up when the balance gets low. Another option is pre-paid cards, you would probably have to be in Indonesia though to activate them.

The simple way to get a business number that won't accidentally disappear is to get something like the Telkomsel Halo card what works with monthly billing. You can pay enough money onto the account to last all the time you are out of the country. If you put enough money onto the account, you can turn on global roaming. See Telkomsel, Begitu Dekat Begitu Nyata. There is a a bit of paperwork to get one (because terrorists use mobile phones?) - so it may be simplest to put it in the name of an Indonesian associate. I don't think there is any risk to this person (unless you are a terrorist perhaps).
