Any one knows where a can get someone to install 2 air conditioning units.
I have my own, only one year old, so I don’t need to buy new one.
I’m asking because sometimes it’s not very easy to get an installer unless you buy from them.
Thanks

Hi lumumba,
I would suggest trying at the shop where you usualy buy your electronic appliances.
Talk to the salesman(not the owner of the shop) and ask him how much it would cost to have the installer come to your house. Or better yet if you know who the installer is there, go straight to him, and ask him if he's interested in making some extra money. If you're not comfortable talking in the shop with the guy, ask him his hp number or give him yours.
Another option is going to a shop who sells light's/electrical wire and stuff like that, and ask them if they can help you.
I have checked your profile but that doesn't show your location, so I cant refer you straifgt to my handyman.
Anyway's I hope this helps you a little..
Friendly greetings.............Gilbert.

i use a guy who is actually a refrigeration mechanic first, and handyman second (as opposed to all these handy men that dabble in aircons and electrics on the side)
hes an honest guy, i had my unit relocated for around 160,000Rp 6 months ago. took him around 3 hours, price included topping the unit up with gas after the install. Will be more if ALL of your gas has escaped and you need full re-gas.
Gede = 081916142513. He usually works around seminyak/kerobokan.

Thanks Gilbert for your info.
I still in Bandung (west Java) this why I was asking for some info. I will move to Bali very soon (I’ve been saying this for the past 6 months and still in Bandung, not long to go anyway)
Thanks Hinakos
I think I probably will go for Gede and call him when the time comes, in 3/4 weeks.
Thank you

I am pretty new on the forum, and this is the first forum I joined.
But I think a forum is like the waves high then low/ busy then "sleepy".
Another reason could be is that members want their post to be read by not only members, and in doing so...the passer by get's interested and joins the forum.
I dont know...I am just thinking out loud now.
Btw, Bandung...my mom was borne there many years ago, and she still refuses to write it as Bandung, she insist on Bandoeng, hihihi.
Anyways, I hope your move to this Island will be going as planned.
friendly greetings...Gilbert.

Markit - you appear to be mixing in the wrong circles - that or you are making yourself an easy target for some reason.
I have never had the type of problem you refer to.

Gilbert this is probably pretty bad advice because if you know the people here they will almost always say "yes, I can do that". Particularly if money is in play.
Can you milk a duck? "yes, I can do that"
Can you paint the wind? "yes, I can do that"
Can you repair, re-place my air conditioner? "yes, I can do that"
In the case of the first 2 not much can go wrong but in the last instance, at best, you have a working air conditioner, at worst, your house burns down.

Hi Markit...I wouldn't know where you buy your electronic appliances  , but overhere where I buy my stuff there's a good mechanic who installs AC or Exhaust in the kitchen without any problems.
I do agree with the fact some people say yes, without the knowledge to actually do what you ask them to. But if you're talking to the installer of a shop who sells AC, i can't see anything going wrong.
In fact, I recently bought a new boiler in Denpasar for the bathrooms, but had it installed by the guy of the shop I ussualy buy stuff here in Singaraja. No problems so far :) .
friendly greetings.....Gilbert,

Hi Gilbert it was just that in your first post you suggested going behind the owners back and getting it done, as it were, on the sly, or at least your post sounded like that was the idea. I'm all for getting something for cheaper but sometimes, like when you are dealing with electrical things, it can be a false economy to try and "do it on the cheap". Just something I've learned through painful personal experience

Hi Markit,
Yeah go straight to the guy who does the actual work, because the boss would say "the AC is not bought here, so we do not install". I am not suggesting the installer should come during workhours, but when he has freetime(ussualy one day a week).
Yeah..I know exactly what you mean, with economically stupid to try everything as cheap as can, I certainly don't reccomend going on the cheap, when electrical appliances have to be installed .Too dangerous to mess around with that.
friendly greetings....Gilbert.
